• In April of 2006 Joshua Richard organized a "band festival" that was called Walk On Fest 2006.  This festival was organized in order to raise funds for Multiple Sclerosis.  Joshua's mother and a few of his friends had been recently diagnosed and he felt there was a need to support them and others dealing with the daily effects of Multiple Sclerosis.  The event went well and was attended by many local bands,  and vendors.  However, after the event there was a sense that more needed to be done.

  • Mid 2007 a few friends gathered, discussed and organized Walk On Foundation.  Walk On Foundation set out to help persons in Central PA with basic necessities.  Although a small organization we were able to do many good things in our local area by providing shelter on a short term basis, food, clothing and other smaller roadblocks.

  • In August of 2008 Josh's wife Kristy came across the website Wish Upon A Hero and before you could say "Grant" Josh and Kristy were hooked on helping others through this site.  Josh began talking to Dave Girgenti, the founder of Wish Upon A Hero, and here we are.  What began as a festival, turned into a local organization, and now would like the chance to change lives in the world.  We truly believe "No wish is too large, No hero is too small."
  • Effective July 1st, 2009 Walk On Heroes has narrowed their outreach to assist those in time of crisis due to medical situation, safety issues, and/or natural disaster.

  • Effective August 9th, 2009 Walk On has chosen to apply for their own 501(c)3 status and reorganize in order to better meet the needs of the applicants and the communities they live in.  While the procedures in which we do things may change slightly, our mission will remain the same.
